[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The Incheon Fire Headquarters has completed the advancement project of installing a long-distance fire monitoring system that can check all fire situations in Incheon city in real time and has begun full-scale utilization.
According to the Fire Headquarters on the 1st, the long-distance fire monitoring system is an advanced intelligent command system that allows the situation room to check and monitor the scene in real time through high-performance cameras installed near the accident area immediately after a fire or various disasters are reported.
In particular, the cameras equipped in the long-distance fire monitoring system can rotate 360 degrees and adjust up and down, and are equipped with high-performance optical lenses of 2 million pixels, enabling monitoring of buildings more than 5 km away.
The Fire Headquarters replaced all the existing outdated systems installed at 16 locations including Subong Park in Michuhol-gu, which had been in place since 2008, with a budget of 175 million KRW.
Kim Youngjoong, head of the Incheon Fire Headquarters, said, "The long-distance fire monitoring system will be a great help in situation control as it allows real-time viewing of disaster sites such as fires," adding, "It is planned to be used for various purposes such as monitoring fires in surrounding buildings and nearby forest fires, as well as typhoon and strong wind situations."
