[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Gominhyung] Jeonju City has decided to operate an online stamp tour using smartphones to enhance the appeal of alleyway tours in Hanok Village.
On the 1st, the city announced that starting in June, it will conduct the "Jeonju Hanok Village Alleyway Online Stamp Tour" to strengthen untact (contactless) travel content in preparation for the post-COVID-19 era and to revitalize alleyway tours in Hanok Village.
The online stamp tour is conducted by using a mobile app; participants collect stamps upon arriving at stamp zones designated by Jeonju City along each course, and upon completing a course, they receive a small gift.
To this end, the city classified the alleyway stories introduced in the essay "I'm Glad I Came Here Today," published earlier this year, into three themed courses, developing a total of 21 stamp zones with seven locations per course as travel routes.
Course 1, themed "Receive Blessings (福) in Hanok Village," consists of ▲600-year-old Ginkgo Tree ▲Seonbi Alley ▲Seunggwangjae ▲Omokdae Dangsan Tree ▲Jeonju Hyanggyo Ginkgo Tree ▲Well Story ▲Omokgyo Bridge.
Course 2, themed "Famous Spots for Life Photos," includes ▲Choi Myeonghui-gil ▲Hanok Village 10 Views Alley ▲Hanok Village History Museum Alley ▲Eunhaeng-ro Omokjeong ▲Square Stream ▲Jeonju Hyanggyo Alley ▲Omokdae Deck Observatory.
Course 3, where visitors can feel "Stories of Hanok Village Residents," covers ▲Gyodong Art Museum ▲Memory Recall Alley ▲Craft Hanji Alley ▲Ssangsaem and Yangsajae Story ▲Omokdae Supermarket and Wonkwang Supermarket ▲Hyanggyo Supermarket ▲Jaman Mural Village.
As part of the local return project of Kakao Friends Jeonju Hanok Village Store, the city will provide participants who complete one or two courses with a free souvenir featuring the "Jeonju Gamrae" character, a local specialty product of Jeonju Hanok Village.
Additionally, participants who collect all 21 stamps across the three courses will receive handcrafted souvenirs made by craft artists within Jeonju Hanok Village.
Participants who complete one or two courses can receive their souvenirs by visiting the Kakao Friends Jeonju Hanok Village Store, while those who complete all three courses can collect their souvenirs at the Jeonju City On-site Office Hanok Village Support Division, located opposite Jeondong Cathedral.
However, under the Public Official Election Act, souvenirs provided upon completing all three courses will not be given to Jeonju citizens.
Kim Yongtae, head of the Hanok Village Support Division of Jeonju City, said, "Although the decrease in travelers due to COVID-19 has created difficulties, we have designed courses that allow people to enjoy the hidden stories and various aspects of the alleys in Hanok Village using smartphones while practicing social distancing in daily life."
