Opasnet Signs Second Phase Big Data Project Agreement with Korea Agency for Digital Opportunity and Promotion

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Opasnet, an IT solutions specialist company encompassing NI (Network Integration) and SI (System Integration) businesses, announced on the 1st that it signed a center operator agreement with the National Information Society Agency (NIA) on the 25th of last month for the second phase of the Big Data Platform and Center Construction (Regional Economy Sector) project.


This project is government-led and aims to support the creation of a data-driven value creation ecosystem by enabling public and private sectors to collaborate in analyzing and distributing data collected at big data centers through platforms, discovering and spreading innovative services.


To this end, the Ministry of Science and ICT (hereinafter referred to as MSIT) selected 10 sector-specific platforms and 100 institution-linked centers. Opasnet has been consecutively selected as a center operator in the regional economy sector from the first phase in 2019 through the second phase this year.


Along with carrying out the second phase of the project, Opasnet plans to establish a data distribution business foundation based on the technology accumulated through securing big data solutions and building platforms over the past few years, and also promote new services that integrate artificial intelligence (AI) technology with big data.


Jang Suhyun, CEO of Opasnet, stated, “As data-driven digital transformation accelerates across all industrial sectors, with this center operator selection, we will support the activation of the national data economy based on data and become a digital innovation specialist company providing data distribution services for analyzed data.”
