Cultural Heritage Administration National Buyeo Cultural Heritage Research Institute and Iksan City 'Wanggungri Story' Contest Announcement
The Cultural Heritage Administration's National Buyeo Cultural Heritage Research Institute and Iksan City announced on the 1st that they will hold a photo contest titled "Wanggungri Story" featuring the Iksan Wanggungri Ruins until the 31st of next month.
The Wanggungri Ruins are the remains of a Baekje royal palace excavated by the National Buyeo Cultural Heritage Research Institute since 1989. Recognized for its universal value, it was inscribed as part of the Baekje Historic Areas World Heritage Site in 2015.
The contest theme is "Our Everyday Moments" captured at the Iksan Wanggungri Ruins. Anyone residing in Korea can participate. Each person may submit up to two works. Submissions must be sent via email between the 10th and 31st of next month. Photos must be taken with a mobile phone camera. Judging will be conducted separately by experts and the public.
One grand prize winner will receive the Cultural Heritage Administration Commissioner Award and a gift certificate worth 500,000 KRW. Eight gold prize winners will receive the Iksan Mayor Award or the Director of the National Cultural Heritage Research Institute Award and a gift certificate worth 300,000 KRW. Nine silver prize winners will receive the Director of the National Buyeo Cultural Heritage Research Institute Award and a gift certificate worth 200,000 KRW. Winning works will be exhibited throughout the Wanggungri Ruins area. They will also be compiled into a photo catalog and used as promotional materials.
