According to Daegu City on the 1st, the new confirmed case is a female health teacher at Gyeongsan Science High School in Gyeongsan City, Gyeongbuk Province, who tested positive in a mass screening conducted on May 30 for students and teachers before entering the student dormitory.
The health authorities are conducting specimen tests on a total of 12 people, including two fellow teachers and three parents who had contact with the teacher, while also carrying out an epidemiological investigation into the route of infection. As a result, the number of confirmed cases in the Daegu area increased to 6,884 as of midnight on the 1st.
