[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] A controversy has arisen after a car owner verbally abused a security guard who posted an illegal parking warning at an apartment complex in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province.

According to Yonhap News TV on the 1st, security guard A, who works at an apartment in Pyeongtaek, attached a warning notice to a vehicle that violated parking regulations.

The car owner reportedly wrote offensive language on the warning, including phrases like "I will cut off the security guard's hand," which are difficult to express.

After another parking violation warning was attached to the same vehicle, the car owner left abusive remarks telling the security guard to keep attaching the notices. As the controversy grew, the car owner apologized to both the security guard and the management office.

This is not the first time a security guard has suffered verbal abuse and assault from residents. Recently, a resident named Shim (49), suspected of repeatedly verbally abusing and assaulting the late security guard Choi Heeseok, who worked at an apartment in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, was referred to the prosecution.

The Seoul Gangbuk Police Station sent Shim to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment on the 27th of last month at 7:50 a.m., on charges including injury, threats, and assault.

Shim first had a dispute with Choi on the 21st of last month over a double parking issue. He is suspected of assaulting Choi multiple times and forcing him to resign.

Choi filed complaints on April 21 and 27, alleging assault by Shim. Later, on the 10th of last month, Choi left a note stating he had been assaulted and threatened by Shim before taking his own life at his home.
