[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] The Pacific War Victims' Families Association (hereinafter the Families Association), a group representing the bereaved families of victims of forced labor and comfort women during the Japanese colonial period, is holding an emergency press conference condemning the Justice and Memory Foundation and Yoon Mi-hyang, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea.
The Families Association announced that on the 1st at 2 p.m., it will hold an emergency press conference at Alps Restaurant in Seonwon-myeon, Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, demanding the resignation of Representative Yoon and revealing the 30-year truth behind the Justice and Memory Foundation. It is reported that two bereaved family members of comfort women victims will also attend the press conference.
At the press conference, the Families Association is expected to call for the dissolution of the Justice and Memory Foundation, the resignation of Representative Yoon, and an apology from the Japanese government to the victims of Japanese colonial rule, including comfort women.
The Families Association stated, “The Justice and Memory Foundation, which has deviated from its purpose and become another form of civic power, must be immediately dissolved,” and urged, “Representative Yoon, who has exploited the comfort women issue for the past 30 years, must resign.”
