[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Samyang Foods announced on the 1st that it will sell a limited quantity of four export-only Buldak products on its official online mall, ‘Samyang Mat Shop’.
The products being sold are Original Buldak Bokkeummyeon, Carbo Buldak Bokkeummyeon, 3x Nuclear Buldak Bokkeummyeon, and Corn Buldak Bokkeummyeon. All are no-meat products containing no meat ingredients, expected to have high demand from consumers who prefer vegetarian options.
In particular, the 3x Nuclear Buldak Bokkeummyeon and Corn Buldak Bokkeummyeon were planned exclusively for export and have never been distributed domestically, so they are expected to attract greater interest from domestic consumers.
The 3x Nuclear Buldak Bokkeummyeon has a Scoville index of 13,000, making it the spiciest product among the Buldak brand offerings both domestically and internationally. The Corn Buldak Bokkeummyeon combines Buldak sauce with corn cheese flavor, allowing consumers to enjoy a spicy yet savory and slightly salty taste.
These products can only be purchased through the Samyang Mat Shop website. The price for a 5-pack multi-pack is 4,200 KRW for Original Buldak Bokkeummyeon, and 5,500 KRW for Carbo Buldak, 3x Nuclear Buldak, and Corn Buldak Bokkeummyeon.
A Samyang Foods representative said, “This sale was planned reflecting consumer needs for export-only Buldak products that were previously unavailable domestically,” adding, “We plan to continue providing consumers with new and fresh products and experiences through Samyang Mat Shop.”
