[Golf Topic] Hole "I Like One-Day Golf Tournaments Too"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyun-jun, Golf Specialist] ○…A one-day women's professional golf tournament is being held in the UK...

The UK Telegraph introduced it on the 31st (Korean time) as "the first women's tournament held in the UK since all sports events were completely suspended due to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19)." It will take place on June 18 at Brokenhurst Manor Golf Club in Hampshire, UK. Liz Young, a member of the Ladies European Tour (LET) who planned the tournament, added, "It means revitalizing women's tournaments in such an uncertain situation."

It is interesting that Georgia Hall (England, photo), the 2018 British Women's Open champion, has declared her participation. British players active in the LET, including Megan McLaren, Annabel Dimmock, Amy Boulden, and Gabriella Cowley, will join. It is unfortunate that no company has yet promised sponsorship for the tournament. The players plan to contribute small amounts, such as paying a participation fee of 125 pounds (about 200,000 won), to add to the prize money.
