Selected for the "Industrial Complex Multipurpose Cultural Center Construction Project"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province (Governor Kim Young-rok) announced on the 31st that the ‘Daebul National Industrial Complex’ has been finally selected for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s ‘Industrial Complex Complex Cultural Center Construction Project.’
This project was promoted to expand poor residential and convenience facilities within the industrial complex.
The ‘Industrial Complex Complex Cultural Center’ is a project that supports easy access to the lacking cultural, residential, welfare, and convenience functions within the industrial complex in one place to improve the residential and working environment of industrial complex workers and to attract excellent talent such as youth and technical personnel.
The province plans to spend a total project cost of 4 billion KRW, including 2.8 billion KRW in national funds, to build the ‘Daebul National Industrial Complex Complex Cultural Center’ by 2022, establishing and operating a multipurpose cultural space (cinema, performance hall, etc.), convenience facilities (reading, creation, PC cafe, lounge, etc.), a communal laundry room, and a safety education experience center.
Ansanghyun, Director of the Economic Energy Bureau of Jeonnam Province, said, “The Daebul National Industrial Complex plays a pivotal role in the economy of the southwestern region, but recently, due to the shipbuilding industry recession, it has been designated as an employment and industrial crisis area, making the business environment difficult for companies. We will continue to actively discover various government support projects to revitalize the industrial complex.”
Meanwhile, Jeonnam Province has designated the Daebul National Industrial Complex as an employment and industrial crisis area and a youth-friendly industrial complex to revitalize the southwestern economy, and is discovering and supporting various projects such as establishing a joint construction base for small and medium-sized ships and remodeling idle and closed factories.
