22 Companies Selling 38 Products at Andong and Pohang Nonghyup Farmers Market
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 31st that it will hold a special sales exhibition of excellent social economy enterprise products for one week at Andong Nonghyup Farmers Market starting June 1, and at Pohang Nonghyup Hanaro Mart starting June 5.
This event showcases 38 products from outstanding social economy enterprises in the province, including mixed grain sets, Omija seaweed, health supplements, and pet snacks, offered to consumers at a 20-30% discounted price. To encourage customer interest in the social economy, various product tasting and sampling events will be held along with giveaways.
In this regard, Gyeongbuk Province selected 22 companies and 38 products as special sales items based on the consulting results of purchasing buyers at the 'CJ Freshway Invited Social Economy Product Evaluation Meeting' held on May 7.
The special sales exhibition features products from social enterprises, village enterprises, and cooperatives in 11 cities and counties of Gyeongbuk, including Pohang, Andong, Gumi, Uiseong, Yeongdeok, and Chilgok. During the event period, Gyeongbuk Province will support up to 40% of the sales price, including discount coupons and sales commissions, for products sold. Through this planned exhibition, excellent social economy enterprise products from Gyeongbuk will be introduced to consumers, and products with good sales performance and response will be given opportunities to be stocked in local Nonghyup marts.
Kim Hojin, Director of the Job Economy Office of Gyeongbuk Province, stated, "We are continuously creating cases of win-win cooperation with traditional social economy organizations under special laws such as Nonghyup and Shinhyup, and promoting leading projects to establish a solid foundation suitable for the 'Gyeongbuk-type social economy.'"
Meanwhile, Andong Nonghyup is a representative regional Nonghyup with about 6,800 members, 42 billion KRW in capital stock, and assets of 1.6 trillion KRW. It was selected as the best wholesale market nationwide for two consecutive years since 2018. Pohang Nonghyup has about 4,000 members, 51.2 billion KRW in capital stock, and assets of 1.1 trillion KRW.
