The meeting, attended by National Assembly member-elect Yoon Jae-gap, Provincial Assembly members Kim Seong-il and Jo Gwang-young, County Council Chairperson Lee Soon-i, and county council members, was organized to explain the key priority projects of Haenam-gun during the 7th local government term and to actively seek support and cooperation for securing national funds related to regional issues.
During the meeting, in-depth opinions were exchanged regarding the progress of major pending projects, and measures were discussed to proactively respond to securing next year’s government budget.
Haenam-gun is requesting budget support and policy proposals for projects including the establishment of the National Subtropical Demonstration Center, the Haenam Bukil District agricultural water system project, early activation of the Osiano Tourism Complex, the Urban Regeneration New Deal project, and the creation of the 2nd Sports Town.
Participants, including National Assembly member Yoon Jae-gap, reviewed each project requesting national funding and agreed to cooperate in securing national funds to ensure the smooth progress of key projects.
Additionally, the meeting included policy proposals to strengthen cooperation with neighboring local governments in tourism, as well as island development and remodeling of tourist sites such as Daeheungsa Temple and Ttangkkeut.
Member-elect Yoon stated, “With a sense of mission for regional development and residents’ happiness, let us continue to cooperate wholeheartedly without reservation among National Assembly members, local council members, and public officials,” adding, “I will take the lead as a National Assembly member to support the smooth implementation of the pending projects reviewed today.”
Haenam-gun plans to continue making all-out efforts to secure national funding by thoroughly and sufficiently explaining the necessity and urgency of target projects through visits to central government departments and via local National Assembly members.
Myung Hyun-gwan, Haenam County Governor, said, “To resolve regional pending projects, local political circles and senior officials will openly exchange opinions and make every effort to secure budgets.”
