According to Bonghwa County on the 30th, hailstones measuring 0.5 to 1 cm in diameter fell for about 30 minutes yesterday afternoon in areas such as Moolya-myeon Ojeon and Apdong-ri in Bonghwa County. It is tentatively estimated that 32 hectares (320,000㎡, 96,800 pyeong) of apples and 5 hectares (50,000㎡, 15,125 pyeong) of peppers were damaged in farms in this area. Bonghwa County is conducting additional investigations to determine the exact scale and extent of the damage to the affected farms.
According to the Daegu Meteorological Office, around 4:40 PM yesterday, due to atmospheric instability, hail accompanied by thunder and lightning, along with showers of about 5 to 10 mm, fell in the northern inland and mountainous areas of northern Gyeongbuk, including Bonghwa and Yeongju.
