[Photo] Yeongdeungpo-gu Urgently Installs Yeouido Walking-Through On-Site Screening Clinic

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Chae Hyun-il) is making every effort to prevent community infection through swift measures to block additional confirmed cases related to confirmed cases at an academy located in Yeoui-dong.

The district immediately launched an epidemiological investigation into the academy instructor and two students who tested positive on the 28th at the Yeoui-dong academy.

The district identified a total of 26 close contacts among the academy instructors, students, and families of the confirmed cases, and conducted COVID-19 tests followed by self-quarantine measures starting from the 28th.

Additionally, the entire shared spaces of the academy building, including the elevator, were fully disinfected on the 28th.

The district also conducted a full survey of users of the academy building, posted testing guidance notices inside the building, and provided testing to users and visitors who wished to be tested.

In particular, starting from the 30th, the district installed a walk-through on-site screening clinic at Yeouido Ankara Park to allow residents to receive tests quickly and conveniently nearby for their life and safety.

The district traced the movements of confirmed cases from the 24th to the 28th and completed disinfection of five locations visited by the confirmed cases, including public transportation, cafes, and restaurants. It was confirmed that the confirmed cases wore masks while using public transportation, and the district continues to investigate people who may have come into contact with the confirmed cases along those routes.

Furthermore, the district notified about confirmed cases at more than 50 academies and private institutes within the Hongwoo Building and ordered them to close entirely until the 31st, recommending closure until June 7.

The district also recommended temporary closure of eight multi-use facilities within the Hongwoo Building until the 31st.

Moreover, the district secured the list of 2,952 students and instructors from 14 academies and private institutes and is informing them about free COVID-19 testing and other measures.

The district recommended COVID-19 testing for 159 users of three facilities located on the same floor as the confirmed case academy, as well as all visitors to the Hongwoo Building from the 25th to the 27th.

Additionally, the district sent transmission alert messages to 792 multi-use facilities in the area and completed disinfection of the building itself.

Chae Hyun-il, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, “We urgently installed an on-site screening clinic in Yeouido to enable residents to get tested as quickly as possible,” and added, “We will operate a 24-hour emergency response system and mobilize all administrative power to block community infection and protect the lives and safety of residents.”
