[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] The New York stock market closed mixed, relieved by the China sanctions plan announced by U.S. President Donald Trump.
On the 29th (local time) at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 25,383.11, down 17.53 points (0.07%) from the previous session. The Standard & Poor's (S&P) 500 rose 14.58 points (0.48%) to 3,044.31, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq closed up 120.88 points (1.29%) at 9,489.87.
The New York stock market sharply reduced its intraday losses or rebounded strongly to close after President Trump did not announce any new or serious measures regarding China during his press conference that day.
