[Asia Economy Reporters Kang Nahum and Won Dara] Yoon Mee-hyang, the elected member of the Democratic Party of Korea, will clarify her position on various controversies, including allegations of accounting fraud at the Justice and Memory Foundation (Jeonguiyeon), on the 29th.

A Democratic Party official told Asia Economy on the 28th, "Yoon will hold a press conference tomorrow (29th) to state her position," adding, "The exact time, location, and format of the conference have not yet been decided."

Another party official also said in a phone call, "There was a suggestion that it would be better for the elected member to make a statement ahead of the National Assembly opening on the 30th," and "Once the schedule is finalized, the elected member's side will announce it directly."

This will be Yoon's first public appearance in 11 days since her radio interview on the 18th. It is known that she has been preparing materials to clarify the allegations by reviewing her bank accounts and expenditures. The decision to hold the press conference on the 29th is interpreted as her intention to provide explanations before the start of the 21st National Assembly term on the 30th.

Meanwhile, voices within the party have continuously called for Yoon to explain herself. Lee Nak-yeon, chairman of the Democratic Party's COVID-19 National Crisis Management Committee, also commented on Yoon's continued silence, saying, "I expect her to take responsible steps to clarify the matter."
