Gwangju City Labor-Management-Government Council Takes Joint Responsibility for Youth Jobs and Gwangju Employment On the afternoon of the 28th, Lee Yong-seop, Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City, attended the 'Labor Day Commemoration and Labor-Management-Government-Civil Harmony Festival' held in the main auditorium on the first floor of the Transportation Culture Training Center. [Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The labor, management, civil, and government sectors in the Gwangju region have declared their commitment to jointly take responsibility for youth employment and Gwangju's job market.


On the afternoon of the 28th, Lee Yong-seop, Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City, Yoon Jong-hae, Chairman of the Korean Federation of Trade Unions Gwangju Regional Headquarters, Kim Dong-chan, Chairman of the City Council, Kim Bong-gil, President of the Gwangju Employers Federation, Park Jae-man, Standing Representative of the Citizens' Organization Council, and Kang Hyun-cheol, Director of the Gwangju Employment Office, adopted the "Declaration of Social Responsibility for Win-Win Cooperation among Labor, Management, Civil, and Government Sectors to Realize a Win-Win City of Gwangju" at the Labor Day commemorative event held at the Gwangju Transportation Culture Training Center.


In the declaration, they stated, "The labor, management, civil, and government sectors of Gwangju Metropolitan City recognize themselves as partners jointly responsible for youth employment and Gwangju's job market, and declare their efforts to succeed in the Gwangju-type jobs and create more good jobs to realize a win-win city of Gwangju."


To this end, first, the labor, management, civil, and government sectors of Gwangju Metropolitan City will jointly strive to protect the lives and health of the people, support safe working conditions, ensure employment stability and support for vulnerable groups, and overcome economic crises.


Second, the labor, management, civil, and government sectors of Gwangju Metropolitan City will actively cooperate in spreading Gwangju-type jobs to create jobs and improve labor-management relations through appropriate wages, reasonable working hours, responsible labor-management management, and improvement of subcontracting relationships.


Third, the labor, management, civil, and government sectors of Gwangju Metropolitan City will actively cooperate to establish a social foundation for the successful settlement of Gwangju Global Motors within the Bitgreen Industrial Complex.


Fourth, the labor, management, civil, and government sectors of Gwangju Metropolitan City will actively cooperate in establishing the Win-Win Committee and the Gwangju Win-Win Job Foundation to revitalize the Labor-Management-Civil-Government Council, a social dialogue body for realizing a win-win city of Gwangju, and will implement the "Declaration of Social Responsibility for Win-Win Cooperation among Labor, Management, Civil, and Government Sectors."


Meanwhile, at the Labor Day commemorative event attended by various figures and workers, five workers who contributed to labor-management harmony and the improvement of win-win cooperation received commendations from the Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City, and a total of ten workers received awards from the Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City and heads of institutions.


Mayor Lee Yong-seop said, "We will listen more closely to the voices from the labor field and pay more attention and provide wholehearted support so that jobs can be the start of a happy life and the best welfare," adding, "I hope that the harmony and solidarity among labor, management, civil, and government sectors pledged here will become a valuable driving force for ending COVID-19, overcoming the economic crisis, and revitalizing the local economy."
