KBS’s popular show among pet owners, Dogs Are Incredible, has sparked interest by featuring an AI CCTV and snack robot dedicated to pets.
In a recent episode of Dogs Are Incredible, Han Seung-yeon carefully took care of her pet dogs, Puri and Noobi, using her phone while traveling by car. She checked on her dogs left at home by rotating the dog CCTV 360 degrees and called their names to let them hear her voice. The appearance of using a snack robot for the dogs also attracted significant attention to the product.
The dog CCTV and snack robot used by Han Seung-yeon are components of the pet-specialized AI service 'U+ Smart Home Pet Care.' Launched by LG U+ in November last year, Smart Home Pet Care is a package product designed to allow pet owners to check and care for their beloved pets in real time anytime and anywhere. Upon subscription, three products are provided: the pet-exclusive CCTV ‘Momca,’ the dog robot toy ‘Snack Robot,’ and a ‘Sleep Light.’
The pet-exclusive AI CCTV ‘Momca’ used by Han Seung-yeon features 360-degree rotation up, down, left, and right, enabling thorough monitoring of every corner of the house. Pet owners can check their pets in real time via a mobile app. Equipped with sound detection and two-way communication functions, it immediately notifies the owner via phone alerts when the pet seeks them and allows the owner to speak to the pet. This helps monitor the psychological health of pets with separation anxiety 24/7.
It can also analyze pet behavior patterns and check if pets enter dangerous or restricted areas such as the kitchen. Users can set interest area detection functions (restricted zones, food bowl, and potty pad areas). It is also possible to create a health record diary for the precious pet, as the number of times the pet enters these areas is automatically recorded.
The dog robot toy ‘Snack Robot,’ which plays with pets or dispenses snacks according to preset times when pets are left alone, is also popular. By setting the time and frequency in advance, the snack robot entertains the pet and provides treats. Acting as a playmate for pets, it helps release their excess energy and revitalizes their otherwise dull daily life.
The IoT lighting device ‘Sleep Light’ is also included in the Smart Home Pet Care package. It functions as both a mood light and speaker, allowing remote control of lighting and music via a mobile app. When pet owners go out, they can softly turn on the light or play calming music for pets left alone at home. This creates an environment where pets who are afraid of the dark can feel comfortable. Another advantage is that users can adjust the light color, brightness, music, and volume through the U+ Smart Home app.
