[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Hannam University has been selected for the Ministry of Education's High School Education Contribution University Support Project. This marks the fourth consecutive year.

On the 28th, Hannam University was named among 67 universities in ‘Type I,’ which has no restrictions on eligibility, and 8 universities in ‘Type II,’ which only allows universities that have not been selected for the same project in the past four years, according to the Ministry of Education's announcement of the ‘2020 High School Education Contribution University Support Project Selection’ results.

Among these, Hannam University was the only private university in the Daejeon area to be listed in the Type I selected universities. Among national universities, Chungnam National University and Hanbat National University were also selected in the same category.

As a result of the selection, Hannam University will receive 930 million KRW in funding from the Ministry of Education.

In particular, Hannam University was also selected as a pilot university in the newly established ‘Strengthening Transparency in College Admission Screening’ field this year, receiving an additional 300 million KRW in support. Thus, the total funding the university will receive increases to 1.23 billion KRW.

President Lee Kwang-seop of Hannam University stated, “Our university will focus on contributing to the substantial improvement of high school education and continuously improving the college admission screening system to reduce the burden on students and parents. At the same time, we will do our best to ensure a fair and transparent admission process.”
