The Korean Society of Land and Urban Planning and Saemangeum Development Agency Sign MOU on 'Saemangeum Development Strategy'


[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] The Korean Society of Land and Urban Planning announced on the 28th that it signed a memorandum of understanding on the 27th with the Saemangeum Development Agency to actively utilize the expertise of professionals in the field of land and urban planning for the Saemangeum development strategy.


The two organizations will collaborate on the Saemangeum project, academic events, policy research, educational programs, and personnel exchanges. Through this agreement, the society will hold a thesis contest related to the revision of the Saemangeum master plan. Students and experts from urban planning departments and graduate schools nationwide can participate in the contest. The announcement of winners and awards ceremony will take place at the society’s autumn academic conference (October 30-31, Jeonbuk National University).


Kim Hyun-soo, president of the society (professor at Dankook University), said, "Due to technological innovation and the resulting changes of the era, our land and cities are rapidly advancing and becoming more sophisticated and high-tech than ever before. We will seek cooperation measures by utilizing the professional expertise in land and urban planning that the society has accumulated over the past 60 years."
