National Opera Company Opera Highlights Concert Online Recording Broadcast

[Asia Economy Reporter Byunghee Park] The National Opera Company will broadcast a recorded live stream of the "Opera Highlights Concert - Germany & France" performance at 7:30 PM on the 2nd of next month via Naver TV.

This performance is in collaboration with Mapo Art Center. The National Opera Company will hold a closed-door performance at Mapo Art Center on the 1st of next month, record the live performance, and broadcast it on the 2nd through Naver TV, VLIVE, and Mapo Art Center's Facebook.

The National Opera Company is conducting a "Video Production Project to Overcome COVID-19" with the aim of providing opportunities for audiences who find it difficult to visit performance venues to enjoy culture and arts, and to create a stage for artists facing difficulties amid the COVID-19 crisis. This performance is also part of that project.

On this stage, newly discovered emerging vocalists through auditions held in May and top-class vocalists active on the world stage will perform together, presenting a diverse repertoire of German and French operas and operettas.

From the world's most beloved opera "Carmen" to French operas rich in artistic sentiment such as "Tha?s," "Faust," "Romeo and Juliet," and "Lakm?," as well as "Tannh?user," "The Magic Flute," "The Abduction from the Seraglio," and operettas like "The Merry Widow" and "Die Fledermaus," audiences can enjoy a variety of major arias from works rarely seen on Korean opera stages.

Tenor Jeong Hoyoon, who has performed as a principal singer at the National Theater and the Vienna State Opera in Austria and is active on the global opera stage, mezzo-soprano Kim Jungmi, who has shown brilliant performances on domestic and international opera stages with her rich voice and expressive power, along with soprano Kim Sumi, Kim Kyunghee, Lim Geumhee, tenor Kim Yohan, countertenor Jang Jungkwon, baritones Kim Sungguk, Kim Eungon, Kim Jundong, Park Sejin, Lee Gyubong, basses Park Giok, Park Eehyun, Lee Hyeonguk, and other male and female emerging vocalists who passed the National Opera Company's rigorous competition will perform together.

The Hankyung Philharmonic Orchestra, led by conductor Yeo Ja Kyung, will perform the music, and vocalist Yoon Jeongin will provide commentary to help the audience's understanding.
