[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yudonggyun, Mayor of Mapo-gu, attended the Seoul Challenge Forest creation event held at Seongsan Green Space in Mapo-gu at 10:30 a.m. on the 28th.
The Seoul Challenge Forest is a forest created through collaboration between Seoul City, Mapo-gu, and private companies since March, covering an area of 1,000㎡ around San 53-62, Seongsan-dong, Mapo-gu.
KB Card, together with Mapo-gu, Seoul City, Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, and Tree Planet, conducted a citizen participation tree-planting campaign via SNS to create a forest that reduces fine dust. Mapo-gu was responsible for supervision and maintenance, while Seoul City took charge of overall project management.
A total of 1,076 trees of seven species, including Cheongdanpung (Korean maple), were planted in the created Seoul Challenge Forest.
At the plaque ceremony held on the morning of the 28th, the achievements of the Tree Love Challenge project were introduced, commemorative tree planting was conducted, and photos were taken to celebrate the completion of the Seoul Challenge Forest.
About 20 officials from five organizations, including Seoul City, KB Kookmin Card, Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, Tree Planet, and Mapo-gu, attended the event.
