[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] Disney World, a theme park in Orlando, Florida, USA, which was temporarily closed on March 15 due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), will reopen on July 11.

According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on the 27th (local time), Disney plans to gradually expand the opening of Disney World, starting with 'Magic Kingdom' and 'Animal Kingdom.'

However, both employees and visitors must wear masks mandatorily and undergo a temperature check before entry.

Disney has organized a dedicated team to ensure compliance with the social distancing principle of approximately 1.8 meters and plans to install acrylic glass in some stores to minimize contact.

Events such as parades and fireworks will not be held for the time being.

Additionally, Disney will operate a ticket reservation system in advance to limit the number of visitors to a certain level.

The reopening schedule for Disneyland in California has not yet been confirmed.

In Florida, Universal Studios plans to reopen on the 5th of next month, and SeaWorld on the 11th of next month.

Meanwhile, MGM Resorts will resume casino operations at Bellagio, MGM Grand Las Vegas, The Signature, and others in Las Vegas on the 4th of next month.
