Gwangju Buk-gu "Civil Defense Training Also Conducted Online"

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Moon In) announced on the 28th that starting next month, it will conduct smart civil defense training for more than 16,700 civil defense members with over 5 years of service.

Unlike the existing on-site attendance training, the smart civil defense training is conducted through cyber education, allowing members to take the training conveniently without the burden of their daily work.

The training periods are ▲from the 1st of next month to July 31 ▲from September 1 to October 31, and any civil defense member of Buk-gu with over 5 years of service can participate using a smartphone or PC.

Participation in the training is possible 24 hours a day during the training period by accessing the ‘Smart Civil Defense Training’ site through internet portals or the Buk-gu Office homepage, and a training schedule notification service is also provided.

The training content consists of 20 subjects including the duties and roles of civil defense members, chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, as well as basic knowledge on daily safety such as earthquakes, typhoons, and fires. After watching a one-hour video in full and scoring 70 points or more on the multiple-choice evaluation, the training is considered complete.

Meanwhile, Buk-gu provides a smart civil defense notification service for members who live alone or are long-term absent from their registered address and thus may not receive civil defense training notices on time.

The QR code on the smart civil defense notification contains information such as the training schedule, location, and affiliation, enabling attendance processing on-site without a paper notice.

Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, “We will continue to enhance the training content so that civil defense members can faithfully fulfill their role as guardians of regional security.”
