[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] SsangYong Motor has achieved the remarkable feat of ranking in the TOP 5 for consumer satisfaction in the UK, a major export market, for three consecutive years. Based on high brand satisfaction, SsangYong is strengthening its local marketing efforts in the UK.
On the 28th, SsangYong announced that it ranked 4th in the '2020 Honest John Consumer Satisfaction Survey' recently released by the UK's automotive magazine 'Honest John,' surpassing global car brands such as Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz. With this, SsangYong has recorded a Top 5 brand satisfaction ranking for three consecutive years.
The survey, conducted among 10,000 car owners, evaluated overall satisfaction as well as categories such as vehicle reliability, comfort, fuel efficiency, practicality, and driving performance. SsangYong was selected 4th overall (88.5%), following Lexus, Skoda, and Jaguar.
In particular, SsangYong received the second-highest score (9.59 points) in the reliability category after Lexus, being recognized as the 'most reliable car brand.'

Based on these results, SsangYong plans to accelerate local marketing to enhance brand awareness and expand sales.
Following the appointment of Phil Vickery, a former England national rugby player and popular chef, as brand ambassador in March, SsangYong has been working to raise brand awareness by sponsoring Alex Bragg, a leading British equestrian athlete, earlier this month.
Last month, SsangYong supplied Rexton Sports (local name Musso) as work vehicles to the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, focusing on expanding its market in the public sector and special-purpose vehicles. In mid-month, SsangYong launched the Tivoli G1.2T equipped with a 1.2ℓ gasoline turbo engine in the European market, where downsizing engines and gasoline products are preferred.
