Progress Rate of 75 Pledged Projects at 61.3%... District Mayor Park Seong-su: "Promises to Residents Are the Top Priority"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) has achieved the highest grade (SA) in the "7th Local Government Heads' Pledge Fulfillment and Information Disclosure Evaluation" conducted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.
On the 26th, the report card evaluating a total of 15,799 pledges from city, county, and district heads nationwide was released.
This evaluation comprehensively examined five areas based on the pledge fulfillment data of each local government as of the end of December 2019: ▲pledge fulfillment completion rate ▲2019 goal achievement ▲resident communication ▲web communication ▲pledge consistency.
As a result, Songpa-gu demonstrated its status as "Songpa Leading Seoul" both internally and externally by obtaining the highest SA grade through effective and feasible pledge implementation in district administration.
It is especially meaningful as it was recognized for "responsible administration" that faithfully fulfilled promises to residents ahead of the 2nd anniversary of the 7th local government term.
The district is promoting 75 pledge projects according to policy goals in five areas: △jobs and economy △education and welfare △safety and health △transportation, urban planning, and environment △tourism, culture, sports, communication, and administration. Currently, it is smoothly progressing with a pledge fulfillment rate of 61.3%.
Among them, key pledge projects include ▲the creation of the 21km circular ecological walking trail "Songpa Dullegil" connecting Seongnaecheon, Jangjicheon, Tancheon, and the Han River ▲the establishment of the "Person Library," which shares the experiences and wisdom of local celebrities using the self-developed education support platform Songpa SSEM ▲the operation of the control tower "Songpa Job Integrated Support Center" to systematically manage job projects and implement customized job policies.
To systematically manage the 7th local government pledge projects, the district evaluates pledge fulfillment quarterly through the "Pledge Fulfillment Evaluation Group," composed of residents and external experts.
Additionally, the district increased objectivity and transparency in the pledge implementation process by disclosing the progress and evaluation results of pledge projects on the district website.
Songpa-gu's pledge fulfillment achievements also shone at last year's "National Local Government Heads Manifesto Best Practice Competition." Notably, the virtual power plant established for the first time in an autonomous district was highly recognized, winning the grand prize in the energy decentralization field, and the operation of the job platform including the Songpa Job Integrated Support Center earned an excellence award in the jobs and economy field, achieving a double crown.
Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, "Effective and driven pledge fulfillment is a precious promise to our residents, so I feel an even greater sense of responsibility," adding, "We will continue to faithfully carry out our promises to residents to make Songpa-gu a successful model of local government."
