7 People Indicted in Custody, 2 People Indicted Without Detention
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] Teenagers who committed 'random assaults' on citizens asking for directions in an alley after being refused entry to a bar have been collectively indicted.
The Criminal Division 4 of Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Kim Hyungseok) announced on the 27th that seven teenagers, including A (19), were arrested and indicted on charges of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Crimes (joint injury), and two others, including B (18), were indicted without detention.
A and others are accused of brutally beating a pedestrian who asked for directions with fists and feet in an entertainment district alley in Seo-gu, Daejeon, around 3:10 a.m. on December 8 last year, causing injuries requiring four weeks of medical treatment.
According to the prosecution, on that day, a minor under the age of 19 among their group was denied entry to the bar, which angered them. While gathered in the alley, they assaulted the victim who was passing by and asking for directions without any reason.
The prosecution operated a close communication system with the police investigation team to share investigation status, and through meticulous and swift command, requested arrest warrants and apprehended all those who fled after the incident.
