SKC Kolon PI, Renamed to Reflect Advanced PI Materials

[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] SKC Kolon PI announced on the 27th that it has changed its company name to PI Advanced Materials. The company explained that this was "to enhance its image and strengthen management strategy following the change of the largest shareholder."

SKC Kolon PI, established by splitting and merging the polyimide (PI) film business units of Kolon Industries and SKC in 2008, sold its shares last December to Korea PI Holdings, an investment purpose company established by Glenwood Private Equity (PE), a domestic private equity fund.
