[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Lotte Duty Free announced on the 27th that it has sponsored children's play kits worth 50 million KRW to multicultural vulnerable families in the Incheon area.
This sponsorship was carried out to provide indoor play activities for vulnerable children whose outdoor activities have been restricted due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in celebration of Family Month. The sponsorship ceremony was held on the 26th at the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation in Jung-gu, Seoul.
The "Anywhere Playground" play kit consists of 9 types of play items that children can easily and enjoyably play with, such as Yutnori and blocks, as well as a snack set from Lotte Confectionery, and will be delivered to about 400 multicultural families with elementary school or older children in the Incheon area.
Since January, Lotte Duty Free has been conducting volunteer activities to improve the living environment of 10 single-mother families raising children in the Incheon area. In addition, it has completed the "Nakhyang Gourmet" project, a local food tourism revitalization project targeting seven restaurants in Incheon.
Furthermore, it has been carrying out various social contribution activities directly related to local issues in Incheon, such as the domestic historical travel program "Together Travel" with children and adolescents from multicultural families, and sponsoring stationery sets to the Boramae Children's Center in Incheon.
Lee Sangjin, Head of Marketing at Lotte Duty Free, said, "Through this sponsorship, we hope that children from multicultural families in the Incheon area can smile brightly, even if only for a moment," and added, "Lotte Duty Free will continue to carry out various social contribution activities that can support the local community, which has been stagnated due to COVID-19."
