[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Hyundai Motor Company is making continuous efforts to expand the domestic motorsports base by sponsoring the amateur club racing team 'TEAM HMC (Hyundai Motor Club)' for the fourth consecutive year.
On the 26th, Hyundai Motor announced on the 27th that it held a Hyundai Motor-TEAM HMC sponsorship agreement ceremony at the Autoway Tower located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, attended by Hong Seok-beom, Head of Domestic Marketing at Hyundai Motor, and Kim Juhyun, Team Leader of the TEAM HMC racing team.
Celebrating its 4th anniversary this year, TEAM HMC is an amateur racing team composed of members of the 'Hyundai Motor Club,' a fan club voluntarily formed by customers who love the Hyundai brand. The 4th generation of TEAM HMC consists of six drivers, including broadcaster Yang Sang-guk, who is participating as a driver for the fourth consecutive year, and model Jung Yoona, who newly joined the racing team this year.
They are scheduled to showcase their driving skills by participating in the 'Hyundai Veloster N Cup' and 'Hyundai Avante Cup' at the 2020 Hyundai N Festival, held from June 6 to October 18 at Yeongam International Circuit and Inje Speedium. Hyundai Motor supports TEAM HMC with professional driving suits, an exclusive mechanic team for vehicle maintenance, exclusive racing models, and other expenses related to race participation.
A Hyundai Motor official said, "We decided to sponsor TEAM HMC with the hope that Hyundai customers who love cars can enjoy the charm of motorsports even more," adding, "We will continue to support motorsports activities in various ways so that the domestic motorsports culture can be further revitalized."

Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor has newly established the 'Veloster N Time Trial Class' at the 2020 Hyundai N Festival to actively encourage amateur drivers to enter motorsports. The Time Trial Class is a race where participants start at different times and record the time taken to complete a certain section.
Hyundai Motor continues to expand the motorsports base through various activities such as winning the 2019 World Rally Championship (WRC) manufacturers' overall title, the 2019 World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) drivers' overall title, and operating the Hyundai Motor Group Driving Experience.
