"Pohang's Future in Our Hands" ... Policy Planning Team Launched by Public Officials Below Grade 6

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] Pohang City, Gyeongsangbuk-do, formed a 'Policy Planning Team' composed of employees at grade 6 and below to collectively generate creative ideas for city administration development, and held an inauguration ceremony on the 26th.

The Policy Planning Team, which will serve as an 'Idea Bank' contributing to city development and enhancing citizen convenience, consists of 72 employees at grade 6 and below, organized into 11 teams. The team names are unique and diverse, including 'Beast,' 'Shinsegae,' 'Yageum Yageum Pohwakhaeng,' 'Snap,' 'Twinkle,' 'Chilgeupsida' (Grade 6 Cider), 'Podi' (Pohang City's Administrative Stepping Stone), 'Poman-gam' (Touching Moments in Pohang), 'Pohang Idol,' 'BTS,' and 'REAL.'

These teams will select and research tasks centered on five key policy areas this year: ▲Economic Vitality ▲Growth Engines ▲Urban Regeneration ▲Citizen Happiness ▲Future Administration. At the inauguration ceremony, each team introduced themselves and presented the fields they wish to research, expressing their aspirations to revitalize the local economy with good ideas and to build a happy city of Pohang.

Mayor Kangdeok Lee of Pohang said, "Since various job categories and ranks are gathered, I hope you will strive to analyze Pohang's current situation from multiple perspectives and come up with feasible policies that can revive the stagnant Pohang economy and improve the quality of life."

Meanwhile, starting with the inauguration ceremony, the Policy Planning Team plans to establish activity plans aligned with research tasks, benchmark excellent cases, hold workshops, and have a presentation session at the end of the year.
