Guro-gu Operates 'Online Home Training' Program

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) is operating an ‘Online Home Training’ program.

On the 27th, Guro-gu announced that it has prepared a non-face-to-face home training program to help residents, exhausted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, regain vitality and practice a healthy lifestyle.

This ‘Online Home Training’ was planned to activate residents’ physical activities, which have decreased due to COVID-19.

The program is conducted at the Oryu Health Center. First, participants visit the Oryu Health Center to receive basic tests such as body composition, stress, and vascular age measurement. Based on the test results, individual exercise goals are set, and participants learn correct exercise methods and postures through small group education.

Then, for five weeks, participants exercise daily at their own homes and record the process on ‘Naver Band.’ A professional trainer frequently checks the exercise progress and provides feedback, also addressing health-related questions. Participants communicate and encourage each other through SNS.

After completing the five-week course, participants undergo a follow-up test again at the Oryu Health Center to confirm the exercise effects. They also receive posture checks, advanced movement training, and expert consultations to continue exercising individually.

Guro-gu will start the first session of the ‘Online Home Training’ on the 29th. Priority is given to existing group exercise class students at the health center.

Every Friday, a new session begins, with 10 to 12 residents participating per session.

Those who wish to participate in the program can inquire at the Oryu Health Center.

A Guro-gu official said, “Cases of physical weakening and mental depression due to reduced outdoor activities are increasing,” adding, “We hope everyone takes care of both body and mind health through appropriate exercise.”
