[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Gyeongnam National University announced on the 27th that it has joined the 'Flower Bucket Challenge (Relay Campaign to Help Flower Farms)' to support flower farmers struggling due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The relay campaign to help flower farms is a flower consumption promotion campaign started to assist flower farmers facing various difficulties such as a sharp decline in sales due to the cancellation of major events like entrance ceremonies and graduation ceremonies caused by COVID-19.
This campaign proceeds by having participating institutions purchase flowers and then nominate the next participating institution to send flowers and messages of support. Gyeongnam National University President Park Jae-gyu joined the campaign after being nominated by Changwon National University President Lee Ho-young.
On this day, President Park Jae-gyu of Gyeongnam National University presented bouquets purchased from a local flower shop to 38 long-serving employees who have contributed to the university's development during the '74th Anniversary Ceremony' held in the main building's large conference room, conveying congratulations and encouragement.
Meanwhile, Gyeongnam National University nominated Nam Gil-woo, chairman of Gyeongnam Newspaper, as the next participant in the campaign.
