This measure was taken in response to the recent occurrence of multiple COVID-19 confirmed cases in Bucheon.
The Bucheon Office of Education announced on the 27th that, following consultations with the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency and Bucheon City, which decided to maintain 'social distancing' rather than 'distancing in daily life,' they prioritized students' safety and health, and after discussions with the Ministry of Education and Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, they adjusted the school attendance schedule and informed schools of the transition to remote classes.
Accordingly, schools will conduct remote classes, and emergency care for students requiring supervision, such as those from dual-income families, will continue to be provided.
The Bucheon Office of Education plans to discuss and inform schools later about the timing of school attendance by grade level and the academic calendar.
