U+ Golf Boosts KLPGA Viewership by 58% Year-on-Year

U+ Golf exclusively broadcasted all matches of two groups of players in this tournament live. As this was the first major professional golf tour held worldwide since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the event was held without spectators. U+ 5G customers could enjoy more vivid golf coverage than watching on-site through 5G-specialized features such as ‘5G Swing Close-up Video,’ which allows users to replay players’ swings as they wish, and ‘5G Course 3D Broadcast,’ which provides a three-dimensional graphic view of popular players’ performance on each course. U+tv users could watch the broadcast not only on their mobile phones but also on their TVs.

The most popular specialized feature of U+ Golf was undoubtedly the ‘Exclusive Broadcast of Popular Players.’ During the tournament, this exclusive broadcast accounted for 42% of the daily viewership. The ‘real-time chat’ feature, where viewers could interact with commentators while watching U+ Golf broadcasts, also gained popularity. During the exclusive broadcast period of the KLPGA Championship, more than 1,500 users participated in the chat, leaving over 20,000 messages and communicating with the commentators in real time.
