About 300 Artworks Exhibited at Seoul National University Hospital Predict Leading the Art Market

Artnomics Gallery K has signed a contract with Seoul National University Hospital for the rental and exhibition of artworks as part of its effort to highlight the parody nature of the domestic art market.

On the 27th, Artnomics Gallery K announced, “We will rent and exhibit approximately 300 artworks across 13 floors of the main building, including special wards, the pediatric ward, cancer ward, funeral hall, as well as seven wards in Hyehwa-dong of Seoul National University including the Korean outpatient clinic, Medical Research Innovation Center, and Health Promotion Center, and the entire 38th and 39th floors of the Seoul National University Hospital Gangnam Center located near Yeoksam Station on Teheran-ro.”

Going forward, works by Artnomics Gallery K affiliated artists such as Jeong Goam, Lee Seonggeun, and Kim Doyeon, who represent Korean contemporary art, will be available for viewing at Seoul National University Hospital and the Seoul National University Hospital Gangnam Center on Teheran-ro.

A representative from Seoul National University Hospital, overseeing this exhibition, explained, “Through the contract with Artnomics Gallery K, we aim to psychologically stabilize the indoor atmosphere within the hospital and curate artworks that aid in medical treatment, thereby supporting the care of patients at Seoul National University Hospital.”

An official from Artnomics Gallery K expressed their aspirations, stating, “The exhibition of artworks at Seoul National University Hospital will be a great opportunity to introduce a new paradigm in the domestic art market. In the future, we plan to lead the domestic art distribution market through collaborations not only with hospitals but also with various sectors such as corporations and hotels.”
