[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 27th that it will conduct a pilot live commerce broadcast through the Small and Medium Business Distribution Center and the 'Value Sapsida Platform.'
The pilot broadcast will take place over two days, from the 27th to the 28th, at the Happy Department Store in Mokdong, Seoul. It was prepared to check the operating system ahead of the regular live commerce broadcasts to be launched next month and to derive plans for future product sales and program composition.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups expects that the pilot live commerce broadcast will serve as a foundation to significantly expand the participation of small and medium enterprises and small business owners in live commerce and the sales of their products. During the pilot broadcast, products such as Everybot's 'Wet Mop Vacuum Cleaner' and Fluke's 'Water-based Nail' will be sold.
Additionally, purchasers during the live broadcast time will be entered into a drawing on the 11th of next month to receive prizes such as wireless earphones and coffee gifticons.
Park Young-sun, Minister of SMEs and Startups, stated, "Live commerce is an effective means of promoting and selling products from small and medium enterprises and small business owners with low recognition through indirect product experience via interactive communication. We will take the lead in supporting the entry of small and medium enterprises and small business owners into the online market by actively utilizing live commerce in the consumption and distribution environment transitioning to an untact method."
