[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] In the future, if you disagree with the results of handling reports of violations related to emergency exits, such as closure or obstruction, you will be able to file an objection within 30 days.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 26th that it revised and promulgated the "Gyeonggi Province Emergency Exit Closure, etc. Violation Report Reward System Operation Ordinance Enforcement Rules" on the 25th with this content.
According to the revised enforcement rules, reporters who disagree with the results of handling reports of violations related to emergency exits can file an objection within 30 days from the date of disposition.
The fire station chief must decide whether to accept the objection through deliberation and resolution of the Report Reward Payment Review Committee within 60 days from the date of receiving the objection and notify the reporter of the result.
This is a measure to protect the rights of reporters.
At the same time, to prevent indiscriminate reporting, when filing a report, evidence of the violation witnessed directly (photo or video) must be submitted within 48 hours.
Additionally, following the change in the ordinance name, the enforcement rules' name will also change from "illegal acts" to "violations," and the timing of the Report Reward Payment Review Committee meetings, as well as the functions and procedures for payment and recovery of report rewards, have been codified.
Meanwhile, reports of violations related to emergency exits can be submitted by taking photos or videos of the violation and filling out a report form on the fire station's website 'Emergency Exit Report Center,' etc.
In-person submissions are also possible. The submitted application will be reviewed through an on-site inspection by the fire station and the "Report Reward Payment Review Committee" to decide on payment. If confirmed as eligible, a reward of 50,000 won will be paid to the reporter in local currency within 15 days.
From the beginning of this year until April, there have been 1,177 reports of violations related to emergency exits. Among them, rewards were paid for 426 cases. The remaining 751 cases were not paid due to no violations or ineligibility.
