Simultaneous Promotion of Three Projects: Local Community, Public Work, and Lifestyle Jobs
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) announced on the 26th that it will provide jobs to 720 residents in the district through three projects: the second half local community job project, the public work project, and the COVID-19 response living-type public job project.
The application deadline for participation in these three projects is until the 1st of next month. Eligibility for participation varies slightly depending on the type of project.
First, the project providing the most jobs is the COVID-19 response living-type public job project.
It recruits 648 people through 10 projects including neighborhood cleanliness projects, illegal advertisement cleanup, street tree maintenance and urban park environmental maintenance, waterfront facility maintenance in rivers, environmental guardians for children’s activity spaces, neighborhood life quarantine, and support groups for local children’s centers.
The work period for each project ranges from 3 to 5 months and is scheduled to run from July to December.
Applicants must be residents registered in Gwangju aged between 18 and under 70 who are seeking employment, with priority given to vulnerable groups.
Application forms can be submitted through the Gwangju Metropolitan City Hall website or by visiting the first-floor information desk at Nam-gu Office or the administrative welfare center of the resident’s registered address.
In the local community job project and public work project fields, jobs will be provided to 60 and 12 people respectively, with the second half jobs offered for five months from July to the end of November.
Eligibility for these two projects requires applicants to be residents aged 18 or older with work ability, and household income for two or more persons must be below 65% of the median income (120% for single-person households), with assets under 200 million KRW.
In the local community job field, 22 job projects will be conducted including guidance and management of agricultural product shipments at the Nam-gu local food direct sales market, while in the public work field, 9 projects will be carried out including environmental maintenance within Songam Industrial Complex, factory site support, and annual price surveys.
