[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Juhyung] Kim Hyun-ah, a member of the United Future Party, criticized former Democratic Party lawmaker Choi Min-hee, who pointed out the contents of the press conference held on the 25th by Grandma Lee Yong-soo, who raised suspicions about the misuse of donations by the Justice and Memory Foundation (Jeonguiyeondae), saying, "It is not true that (the grandmothers) could not eat," and told her to "stop covering the sky with your finger."
On the morning of the 26th, Kim wrote on her Facebook, "Who is Grandma Lee Yong-soo as an individual? What exactly is the purpose of this fundraising?" and added, "Is it okay for them to invite people to the Anseong shelter and spend money on food and other things from the donations?"
She continued, "If you keep insisting like that, it might result in tarnishing the original pure purpose of Jeonguiyeondae and also the comrades and supporters who have been with them for a long time," and pleaded, "Please don't do that."
Earlier, former lawmaker Choi appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' the previous day and said, "The grandmother said, 'Donations came in, but when I said I was hungry and wanted to eat something delicious, they said there was no money,'" and claimed, "However, as the name changed to Jeonguiyeondae, this movement expanded to the Asian level. The raised funds cannot be spent on feeding any individual in that way."
She added, "There are rumors that they couldn't eat or had no heating expenses, but the truth is unknown," and said, "Honestly, I don't quite understand why Grandma Lee Yong-soo shows such aversion to Yoon Mi-hyang, the Democratic Party elected member, becoming a member of the National Assembly."
On the same day, Grandma Lee said at a press conference held at the Inter-Burgo Hotel in Suseong-gu, Daegu, "Even when I was hungry and asked to buy something delicious, (Representative Yoon) refused, saying 'there is no money.'"
