[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] Broadcaster Kim Eo-jun raised a conspiracy theory on the 26th that Choi Yong-sang, leader of the Gaja Human Rights and Peace Party, is behind comfort women victim Lee Yong-soo (92), a victim of the Japanese military.

On that day, Kim claimed on TBS's 'Kim Eo-jun's News Factory' regarding Lee's press conference the day before, "So far, what the grandmother has said is similar to Representative Choi's claims, and Choi's logic also appears in the pre-press conference statement."

He continued, "The grandmother's claim that comfort women were mixed into the forced labor victim movement is completely untrue," and raised suspicion, saying, "Someone seems to have given distorted information and said such things beside her."

He added, "The grandmother said something very unexpected, but from here, someone's intention is reflected," and "The group led by Representative Choi had more bereaved families than direct forced labor victims, so the basic stance was that receiving compensation (from Japan) was important, while Jeong Dae-hyeop prioritized apology over compensation. What the grandmother said (at the press conference the day before) is similar to that claim."

Regarding the grandmother's press conference statement, he also pointed out, "It is clear that the grandmother did not write it herself," and "The phrase 'not relying on a few prominent figures' appearing in the statement is political terminology."

He especially said, "(The document) contains the expression 'do not leave it to Jeong Dae-hyeop, but someone else should (resolve the comfort women issue), and 'there are people who helped me,'" and "I think those people are trying to take the place of Jeonguiyeon."

Earlier, at the press conference the day before, the grandmother criticized Yoon Mi-hyang, the elected member of the Democratic Party of Korea, saying, "The Council for the Measures for the Victims of the Military Sexual Slavery (Jeong Dae-hyeop) only deals with the issue of military sexual slavery, so on what authority did they use comfort women victims?"

She continued, "If it were Jeong Dae-hyeop, it should be about the grandmothers who went to the factories (military sexual slavery victims), but to use a bread analogy, they molded the grandmothers who went to the factories as dough and put 'comfort women' inside."

Meanwhile, Representative Choi mentioned by Kim on that day helped the grandmother with her first press conference on April 7, where she exposed suspicions about Jeonguiyeon and elected member Yoon. Representative Choi had applied for a nomination for the minority party quota in the Democratic Citizens Party during the April 15 general election but was rejected.

He also made remarks in media interviews implying that he sacrificed himself for Yoon's nomination.
