This inspection will be carried out until the 29th in preparation for the gradual reopening of senior centers, which had been closed to prevent COVID-19 infections.
The fire station's special investigation team and the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation plan to jointly inspect 75 senior centers in the Gwangsan area.
The main inspection items include ▲distribution and operational status check of basic fire safety equipment (fire extinguishers and detectors) ▲free inspection of electrical facilities such as circuit breakers ▲ensuring fire safety for disaster-vulnerable targets through fire safety education for related personnel.
Chief Moon Gisik said, “There is a high risk of casualties in the event of a fire at senior centers mainly used by elderly people who have difficulty responding quickly,” and added, “We will continue to carry out preventive activities so that the elderly can rest safely at senior centers.”
