[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Jeep officially launches the 'All New Wrangler Rubicon Recon Edition,' which upgrades off-road performance and sensibility, in the domestic market on the 26th.
Jeep's Wrangler Rubicon Recon Edition is developed based on the Rubicon 4-door model and will be sold in a limited quantity of 100 units in two colors, Sting Gray and Black, in Korea.
As it is based on the Wrangler Rubicon model, famous for its off-road performance, it is equipped with a powerful 2.0ℓ turbocharged inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission, delivering a maximum output of 272 horsepower. Additionally, the four-wheel-drive system, front and rear electronic locking differentials, and electronic front sway bar disconnect provide optimal breakthrough capability in any environment such as mountains, rocks, and valleys.
The exterior design also retains the Rubicon's sensibility. The front features a matte black hood decal and a glossy black seven-slot grille that catch the eye. On the side, the Recon Edition-specific Recon lettering badge and the Trail Rated badge, which certifies off-road performance, are attached. The 17-inch black wheels with a new design, upgraded in style, harmonize with the glossy black grille.
Moreover, the Wrangler Rubicon Recon Edition emphasizes toughness with an interior accented in black with red highlights. The leather seats feature red stitching, characteristic of the Rubicon model, and the front seatbacks are embroidered with a red Rubicon logo, creating a sophisticated contrast of bold black and red.
In addition, the Wrangler Rubicon Recon Edition comes with a Trail Rated accessory kit. Gloves, a tow strap, and D-shaped hooks contained in a red Trail Rated bag are useful for towing purposes.
Pablo Rosso, President of FCA Korea, said, "We are reintroducing the Wrangler Recon Edition, which has been loved for its off-roader sensibility, as a new special edition model in 2020. Since it is a rare model with only 100 units sold domestically, we hope it brings joy to customers seeking differentiation."
The selling price of the All New Wrangler Rubicon Recon Edition model is 61.4 million KRW, including VAT.
