[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] From the afternoon of the 26th, there will be heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) forecasted on the 25th that rain will fall in the central region, northern Jeonbuk, and northern Gyeongbuk from the afternoon of the 26th until midnight on the 27th. Rain may continue until 3 a.m. on the 27th in the southern Chungcheong region and northern Jeonbuk.

The KMA also warned that thunder and lightning may occur mainly in northern Gyeonggi, Yeongseo region of Gangwon, and northern Chungbuk during the rainfall, urging caution for safety accidents and facility management.

This rain is expected to show significant regional differences in precipitation depending on the intensity of atmospheric instability, with expected rainfall amounts of 5 to 20 mm in the central region, northern Jeonbuk, northern Gyeongbuk, the five western islands, and Ulleungdo and Dokdo.

However, daytime temperatures are expected to be 1 to 3 degrees higher than the previous day, and some areas, mainly in Chungcheong and southern inland regions, are expected to have daytime temperatures exceeding 25 degrees Celsius, making it somewhat warm.

The morning low temperatures are predicted to be between 12 and 17 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs between 19 and 28 degrees Celsius.

From the night of the 25th to the morning of the 26th, dense fog with visibility below 200 meters is expected mainly in the central region excluding the east coast, Jeonbuk, and the west coast of Jeonnam, while fog with visibility less than 1 km may occur in the southern inland and Jeju Island, requiring special attention to traffic safety.

Regarding maritime conditions, on the 25th, dense fog is expected over the West Sea and South Sea, and on the 26th, over the West Sea and East Sea. On the 26th, in the central West Sea, there may be gusts accompanied by thunder and lightning. The KMA emphasized that ships navigating or fishing should pay special attention to safety, and maritime transport users should check sailing information in advance.
