[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Min Jun-young] On the 22nd and 23rd, it was confirmed that three firefighters infected with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) of unknown transmission route used the same vehicle to attend an acquaintance's wedding.

According to Bucheon Fire Station on the 25th, firefighter A (33) and fire sergeant B (36), both affiliated with the fire station, traveled together in the same car to an acquaintance's wedding held on the 9th of this month in Gwangmyeong-si, Gyeonggi-do.

At that time, the vehicle was accompanied by firefighter A, a woman in her 30s from Mapo Fire Station in Seoul who is about to get married, and fire sergeant B's five-year-old child.

Subsequently, fire sergeant B, residing in Janggi-dong, Gimpo-si, tested positive on the 22nd, and firefighter A and Ms. C, residing in Masan-dong, Gimpo-si, tested positive on the 23rd.

Additionally, B fire sergeant's wife, a 39-year-old nurse who did not attend the wedding, also tested positive, but B fire sergeant's child was confirmed negative.

Meanwhile, Bucheon City confirmed that firefighter A stayed at the jjimjilbang 'Daeyang Oncheon Land' in Sang-dong on the 17th and 20th of this month, and due to concerns about further infection, they are advising visitors on those days to undergo specimen testing.

Earlier, when the affiliated firefighters were confirmed positive, 138 employees including contacts underwent COVID-19 testing, and all were confirmed negative as of the previous day.

Bucheon Fire Station closed the Seobu 119 Safety Center, where firefighter A works, and the Sinsang 119 Safety Center, where firefighter C worked, but reopened dispatch operations from 3 p.m. the previous day.

Furthermore, Bucheon Fire Station ordered 76 employees who had close contact with firefighter A and others to self-quarantine for two weeks.
