[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the afternoon of the 25th that it held a plaque unveiling ceremony at the office of the Gwangju Win-Win Job Foundation Establishment Promotion Team in the Citizen Hall of City Hall.

The plaque ceremony was held with the attendance of Mayor Lee Yong-seop, Vice Chairman of Gwangju City Council Im Mi-ran, Chairman of the Korean Federation of Trade Unions Gwangju Regional Headquarters Yoon Jong-hae, Chairman of the Gwangju Global Motors Win-Win Committee Park Byung-gyu, and others. The event included a report on the progress of the promotion team installation, future plans, greetings, and the plaque unveiling ceremony.

The Gwangju Win-Win Job Foundation will function as a labor service platform supporting the role of the local labor-management-government council, providing Gwangju-type job education and training, conducting research on labor and job policies and labor-management conflict prevention projects, and discovering and consulting social solidarity job enterprises.

The Establishment Promotion Team, operated directly under the Vice Mayor for Culture and Economy, aims to establish the foundation in the second half of next year through administrative procedures such as feasibility studies for the foundation establishment, basic plan formulation, organizer composition, and inaugural general meeting.

Composed of eight members including the promotion team leader, the team will carry out the foundation establishment tasks and temporarily perform functions aligned with the foundation’s original purpose until the foundation officially launches.

The Establishment Promotion Team is expected to serve as a channel for exploring the specific roles of the Win-Win Job Foundation and discussing current labor-management win-win issues.

Yoon Jong-hae, Chairman of the Korean Federation of Trade Unions Gwangju Regional Headquarters, said, “The foundation will greatly help create a Gwangju where labor is respected and it is good to do business,” adding, “The labor sector will also do its best to ensure the success of Gwangju-type jobs so that citizens do not leave Gwangju and can dream of success here.”

Mayor Lee Yong-seop emphasized, “‘Win-win and co-growth’ is the spirit of the times. If we are divided and conflicted by polarization, sustainable growth cannot be guaranteed,” and added, “In that sense, the establishment of the Win-Win Job Foundation will build a system and infrastructure for labor-management win-win, enabling everyone to grow together and contributing to the success of Gwangju-type jobs.”

He continued, “We will actively support the foundation’s establishment as soon as possible.”
