[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Cha Min-sik, hereinafter referred to as the Authority) announced on the 25th that it will conduct safety inspections of port facilities and construction sites in preparation for the summer rainy season.
The facilities subject to this safety inspection include 70 facilities such as the Gwangyang Port Phase 1 Wharf, and the inspection will be conducted for about a month until June 25. The main inspection items focus on drainage facilities vulnerable to rainy season disasters, ground conditions, and checking the operation of mechanical, electrical, and fire-fighting equipment, aiming to thoroughly prevent industrial accidents.
The Authority explained that this inspection is led by the CEO (executive), serving not only to raise awareness about safety management but also to actively express the CEO's commitment to safety management. Additionally, the inspection will be strengthened by utilizing drones and port guide boats to cover blind spots.
President Cha Min-sik said, “Through this safety inspection, we will identify risk factors for safety accidents during the rainy season and carry out timely repair work,” adding, “We will do our best to prevent damage to port facilities and safety accidents.”
