[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) announced on the 25th that it will additionally select 11 citizen auditors based on the ordinance for the composition and operation of citizen auditors.
Anyone aged 25 or older who has been registered as a resident in Nam-gu and has lived there for more than one year as of the announcement date can apply.
In particular, experts in various fields such as culture, environment, construction, health, and welfare, or those with a strong sense of mission and reporting spirit to eradicate corruption are more likely to be selected.
The application period is until the 29th, and residents who wish to serve as citizen auditors can fill out the application form and submit it by visiting the Audit Officer's Office on the 7th floor of Nam-gu Office, or by email, mail, or fax.
The selection results will be announced on the 16th of next month after screening.
Residents selected as citizen auditors will serve as unpaid honorary positions for about two years until March 31 of next year, with the possibility of one reappointment.
The main roles include reporting inconveniences and complaints related to residents' lives, misconduct and irregularities related to public officials, monitoring acts that hinder women's development and gender equality, proposing necessary matters for district administration development, and providing opinions on integrity policies.
A Nam-gu official said, “To realize transparent and clean administration, we ask for the interest and participation of many Nam-gu residents with professional knowledge and qualifications to further activate residents' participation in district administration.”
