Yeonggwang County Governor Kim Young-rok Proposes 'Current Issues' to Jeonnam Governor Kim Young-rok

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeon Seong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 25th that Kim Jun-seong, the mayor of Yeonggwang-gun, recently visited the Jeollanam-do Provincial Office and held individual meetings with Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, to request provincial government support for local projects such as the establishment of an e-mobility exclusive road.

Designated as an e-mobility regulatory free zone in July last year, the county is promoting e-mobility-related projects worth 330 billion KRW across 14 fields, including the construction of an e-mobility knowledge industry center and the establishment of a high-safety evaluation base for e-mobility batteries.

Jeollanam-do Province has also announced plans to sequentially invest 475.1 billion KRW in five fields to create an e-mobility cluster and is supporting the revitalization of the e-mobility industry by including e-mobility (Blue Transport) in the ‘Blue Economy’ vision for the future development of Jeollanam-do.

With e-mobility included in the government’s 5th Comprehensive National Territorial Plan, the county expects government-level support for the e-mobility industry to expand.

Mayor Kim Jun-seong said, “E-mobility is the county’s future source of income and Jeollanam-do’s future new growth engine industry,” adding, “We will actively cooperate with Jeollanam-do to enable the county to lead Jeollanam-do’s Blue Transport.”
