Starting from the 24th and continuing through June
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Su-young) is conducting the 'We Can Do!' village support campaign starting from the 24th, to comfort the hearts of residents who are tired and struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation and to overcome the times ahead together.
Over the past four months, many residents have lost their precious daily lives and experienced difficult times with disrupted communication due to COVID-19.
Accordingly, the Yangcheon-gu Village Community Support Center initiated the campaign to offer comfort and encouragement to residents who have endured well while striving to prevent the spread of community infections, with the intention of overcoming the future together.
The 'We Can Do!' village support campaign involves a program called the ‘On-the-Spot Village Sports Day,’ which tours eight local parks on scheduled dates, consisting of energy recharging, spreading positive vibes, and sending support, symbolizing sharing messages of hope and positivity.
The district started the campaign on the 24th by holding the ‘On-the-Spot Village Sports Day’ at Sinwol Park (Sinwol Siyeong Apartments), and plans to conclude the campaign with a ‘Mask Parade’ marching together from the square in front of Happy World Department Store to Pari Park on June 21.
Anyone in the community can participate in the campaign; however, to practice social distancing in daily life, the district will limit the number of participants to 30 per session.
Kim Su-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, stated, “I feel proud and happy about the news of this support campaign, which started with good intentions for everyone who is tired and struggling due to the COVID-19 situation,” and added, “We ask all participants to strictly follow social distancing guidelines during the campaign.”
